Transcendental Function

A function which ``transcends,'' i.e., cannot be expressed in terms of, the usual Elementary Functions (i.e., the Exponential Function and the Trigonometric Functions and their inverses) by Addition, Multiplication, Division, root extractions (the Elementary Operations) under repeated compositions.
