Quadratic Formula

The formula giving the Roots of a Quadratic Equation

\begin{displaymath}
ax^2+bx+c=0
\end{displaymath} (1)

as
\begin{displaymath}
x = {-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}\over 2a}.
\end{displaymath} (2)

An alternate form is given by
\begin{displaymath}
x={2c\over -b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}.
\end{displaymath} (3)
