Gauss's Backward Formula

$\displaystyle G_{2n}^*$ $\textstyle =$ $\displaystyle {p+n\choose 2n}$  
$\displaystyle G_{2n+1}$ $\textstyle =$ $\displaystyle {p+n\choose 2n+1},$  

where ${n\choose k}$ is a Binomial Coefficient.
