Oversampling

A signal sampled at a frequency higher than the Nyquist Frequency is said to be oversampled $\beta$ times, where the oversampling ratio is defined as

$$\beta \equiv {\nu_{\rm sampling}\over\nu_{\rm Nyquist}}.$$
