Normal Subgroup

Let $H$ be a Subgroup of a Group $G$. Then $H$ is a normal subgroup of $G$, written $H\triangleleft G$, if

\begin{displaymath}
xHx^{-1} = H
\end{displaymath}

for every element $x$ in $G$. Normal subgroups are also known as Invariant Subgroups.
