Historical Note
MSU Track can trace its roots to the intercollegiate field day competitions held during the 1880’s. In 1888, M.A.C. became a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association where it dominated the annual field day events winning 15 championships in 20 years. In 1908, MSU competed in the Big Ten Track Championships in certain events and continued to compete against Big Ten institutions until joining the conference in 1950.

The Intercollegiate Athletics Track Collection consists of M.A.C., Michigan State College, Michigan High School Athletic Association Big Ten, and NCAA Track & Field programs.
