The American Association of University Professors (AAUP) was founded in 1915. From the beginning the AAUP's goals have been to protect the rights of higher education employees while defending academic freedom.

The American Association of University Professors (AAUP), Michigan State University Records contains mixed documents such as a list of past officers, and a report on professor's salaries and academic freedom.
