Biographical/Historical

L. Charles Bokemeier is a professor in accounting at Michigan State University's Eli Broad College of Business. He earned his B.B. (1970) and M.A. (1971) in Accounting from Western Illinois University. He received his D.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 1983. Prior to coming to Michigan State in 2000, he was an associate professor at the University of Michigan-Flint and was an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky, where he received several outstanding teaching awards. He continues to have a strong interest in the accounting changes in governmental accounting. He received an Outstanding Research Paper award from the Association of Women CPA's for his paper, "An Empirical Examination of Burnout Among Women CPA's". Currently, he is the faculty adviser to the Accounting Club, advisor to Honors College students majoring in accounting, and a member of the MACPA Board of Directors.
