Biographical Note

Richard Emil Klausli was born April 11, 1911 in Sandusky, Ohio. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in 1937 and a Master of Music degree in 1939 both from the New England Conservatory of Music. During World War II he served in the South Pacific. He came Michigan State University in 1948 as an instructor in the Music Department. He became an assistant professor in July 1955, associate professor in July 1962 and professor in July 1970. While at MSU he taught musicology, music history, medieval music and church music. He served as minister of music at the Plymouth Congregational Church in Lansing, Michigan. He was married to Dorothy Lillian Rodger Klausli and they had two daughters. Richard Klausli passed away on September 23, 1979.

Scope and Contents note

The collection consists of bound programs of Richard KIausli's performances both on and off campus. Included are worship programs for Plymouth Congregational Church, and programs for the Michigan State University State Singers and School of Music concerts.
