Scope and Contents note

The papers of Henry Larzelere pertain to his work with Michigan regional fruit cooperatives. Specific organizations contained in the collection include the Michigan Blueberry Growers' Association, the Millburg Growers' Exchange, Peach Marketing Group, the South Haven Fruit Exchange, and the Watervliet Fruit Exchange. The aim of these cooperatives was to maximize their profits. Several folders contain the by-laws for that region's fruit cooperatives, as well as some year-end reports. Occasionally brochures can be found that try to recruit local farmers into joining the various organizations. Specific counties and cities in Michigan mentioned are Van Buren, Berrien, South Haven, Fennville, Watervliet and Saugatuck. The collection also includes information on the National Grape Cooperative Association, Inc. and some warranty deeds between the Four County Cooperative Association and the village of Marcellus, Cass County, Michigan.
