Historical Note

The Humanities Teaching Institute was established jointly by the College of Education and the College of Arts and Letters in 1964 for the purpose of assisting in the improvement of teacher training programs in the humanities. It was discontinued in 1976.

Scope and Contents note

The annual reports of the Humanities Teaching Institute contains information on projects, staff, research, and faculty activities. The 1969 report contains two brochures: "Conference on the Humanities in Michigan Schools" and "EPDA Institute Humanities in Foreign Language: French."
