Historical Note
What's Left? was first published in 1980 by Students for an Aware Majority. The publication was partially funded by the Student Media Appropriations Board of Michigan State University and the East Lansing Food Coop. It aimed to bring attention to political and social conflicts in the local area, the country, and the world. It incorporated political cartoons, poems, and stories written from a radical liberal perspective.
Scope and Contents note
The collection contains the first issue of What's Left? The issue contains articles on the Miami riots in 1980 and opinions on President Carter's Iran invasion cancellation.
