Historical Note
The Panhellenic Council is a group representing the sororities on the Michigan State University campus. Each sorority gets two representatives to the council, and from this group, an executive board is chosen. The Council sets the standards for rushing, establishes service projects, mediates problems between sororities, and acts as a liaison between the university and sororities.
Scope and Content
The records of the Panhellenic Council contain a booklet from the sorority rush of 1957-1958. The booklet describes the different sororities and the procedures of the rushing process. It also explains the role of Panhellenic Council in overseeing sororities. Also included are recruitment booklets from 2007 and 2008 and magazines about Greek life for 2007 and 2008, and a Greek telephone directory.
