Biographical Note
William Erwin Hale, from Eaton Rapids, Michigan, graduated from Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) in 1882. Later he became a member of the Michigan Legislature for two years. He also served as president of the Eaton County Agricultural Society for many years, and was president of the Michigan Mutual Windstorm Insurance Company of Hastings for 20 years. At the time of his death in 1931, he was city assessor and health officer of Eaton Rapids.
Scope and Content
The William E. Hale papers consist of a photo album containing portraits of students and faculty from the Michigan Agricultural College class of 1882. Also included are several of Hale's obituaries.
