Biographical Note
Emily Kilbourne attended Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) for two years (1898-1900) as a special student. At this time, a young woman could enter the college as a special student and take cooking, sewing, lectures on household economy, and other courses in practical subjects.
Scope and Contents note
The papers of Emily Kilbourne consists of five volumes of class notes pertaining to pomology, cooking, and horticulture. Pomology and horticulture were taken with Professor Ulysses P. Hedrick.
