Biographical Note

William C. Gage was born in 1842 in Massachusetts. Nellie Lydia was born in 1844 in New Hampshire. They were married in 1860. According to the 1880 and 1900 U.S. federal censuses, they resided in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Scope and Contents note

The collection contains an album of portraits from the 1860s. Engraved on the cover is "S. Gage." A few individuals are identified as William C. Gage, Nellie Lydia Gage, J. J. Giers, Mrs. Giers, and Euphemia Mitchell. Two men are pictured in uniform.
