Biographical Note
The Pinckney family has been a prominent part of the Lansing, Michigan community from the nineteenth century. William H. Pinckney was appointed Attorney Solicitor and Counselor in the courts of Michigan. He was also an Attorney at Law in the State, and was elected Judge of Probate in Ingham County from 1856 to 1864.
Scope and Contents note
The collection contains correspondence, invitations, programs, and certificates relating to the Pinckney family. Also included are newspapers and newspaper clippings related to the Civil War and early Lansing, Michigan history.
