Biographical Note

John Waddell was born in England in 1800. He married Harriett Cramp in 1824. The couple immigrated to the U.S. in 1826. John became a naturalized citizen in 1836 in New York. On the 1860 U.S. Federal Census, the Waddells are living in Sebewa, Ionia County, Michigan and John is listed as a farmer. He died in 1880 in Michigan. Scope and Contents note

The collection contains the naturalization certificate of John Waddell dated March 21,1836 in New York, New York and a memo booklet recording the births and deaths in the family, 1800-1884.
