Biographical/Historical
Aaron K. Waldron (1823-1896) was a prominent farmer in Tecumseh, Lenawee County, Michigan. Waldron was born in New York State and purchased his farm in Tecumseh township in 1845 where he lived the rest of his life. He married Sarah Gunderman (1826-1913), from Seneca County, New York, in September, 1846. They had three sons, Lewis, William, and Charles and three daughters, Clara, Ada and Sarah. Charles' daughter, Clara M. (1889-1981), graduated from Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) in 1913 with a B.S. in Home Economics.
Scope and Contents note
This collection contains deeds, mortgages, tax receipts, and a diary (1878) of Aaron K. Waldron, a prominent farmer of Tecumseh, Lenawee County, Michigan. Also included is family correspondence (1863-1879) including two Civil War letters (1863) to Waldron's wife, nee Sarah Gunderman, from her brothers John, 126th New York Regiment, and Abram, 148th New York Regiment.
