Scope and Contents note
This collection contains manuscripts of two plays, "Fugitives" (1916), and "Getting in Good With Gimpy" (1932), and several published poems about Michigan written by Ernest Jack Sharpe, the creator of the fictional character "Newaygo Newt". Also included are a newspaper articles by Sharpe dealing with the sinking in 1899 of the schooner "Hunter Savidg", and with the history of Christmas cards. In addition, there is an article written by Sharpe about Jacob Sharpstone's will, a copy of which is also included within the collection.
