Scope and Contents note

The papers of Dr. Asa L. Blanchard, of Northville, Michigan, consist of mostly letters, deeds and receipts for the acquisition and sale of land in Minnesota and Washington (1885-1904). Tax receipts for land in Pierce County, Washington, are complete for the years 1885-1904. Included is an account book for his medical practice (1897-1911). Within this volume is a typed commencement address from 1902. A second account book lists transactions and prices (1847-1856) of an anonymous resident of Wethersfield Springs, Connecticut, who appeared to be a leather worker, midwife and vendor of alcohol.
