Biography of Lyman D. Fuller
Lyman D. Fuller (born October 18, 1904, Oxford, Michigan; died February 10, 1977), was a resident of East Lansing, Michigan from 1941 until his death. Graduating from the University of Michigan, Fuller had a degree in electrical engineering. Fuller was later employed by the Michigan Department of State Highways for twenty-seven years prior to his retirement in 1961. He was also a member of the Edgewood Church, Lansing, Michigan.
Scope and Contents
This collection, which was acquired by Lyman D. Fuller primarily during the 1950s and 1960s, consists of a variety of materials dealing with hydroplanes, sailboat racing, Great Lakes ships and the Indianapolis 500 Auto Race. The hydroplane materials consist of various brochures and race programs. Programs from the Port Huron-Mackinac Sailboat Race are also contained in the collection. Numerous publications concerning Great Lakes ships are present including several issues of Telescope. Another part of this collection consists of catalogues from the Chris Craft Corporation along with programs from the Indianapolis 500 Auto Race.
