Mr. Piziks is an English and teen health teacher at Walled Lake High School. After publishing numerous short stories in science fiction magazines and anthologies, the author sold his first book, In the Company of Mind, to Baen Books in 1998. Pizik's other novels include: Corporate Mentality (Baen Books, 1999) and The Tiny War (Star Trek: Voyager, to be published by Pocket Books in 2002). ROC Books will soon publish two novels (Dreamer: a Novel of the Silent Empire, 2001, and Nightmare: a novel of the Silent Empire, 2002) penned by Piziks under his pseudonym, Steven Harper.
