Dr. Maurice Crane
Dr. Maurice Crane was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 6, 1926. He received a M.A. in English Literature from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Illinois. He came to Michigan State University in 1953 and has taught in the humanities department since that time. In 1974, he was appointed director of the Vincent Voice Library at the Michigan State University Libraries.

 Dr. Crane's numerous awards include MSU Honors College Outstanding Professor Award and MSU Distinguished Faculty Award. In addition, he has written many articles for various publications. His three-cassette series on FDR's speeches was chosen as a selection by the Book of the Month Club in 1983 and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1984. Dr. Crane spends his free time playing clarinet in his band Geriatric Six.
