Path

A path $\gamma$ is a continuous mapping $\gamma:[a,b] \mapsto \Bbb{C}$, where $\gamma(a)$ is the initial point and $\gamma(b)$ is the final point. It is often written parametrically as ${\bf\sigma}(t)$.
