Convective Acceleration

The acceleration of an element of fluid, given by the Convective Derivative of the Velocity ${\bf v}$,

\begin{displaymath}
{D{\bf v}\over Dt} = {\partial{\bf v}\over\partial t}+{\bf v}\cdot\nabla{\bf v},
\end{displaymath}

where $\nabla$ is the Gradient operator.
